green barn project in toronto

I don't know if anyone has heard of this amazing community effort, but I stumbled onto the website a few weeks ago...

There is a whole community in the Wychwood area (west end of TO near Dupont and Bathurst) who have fought to reclaim an old TTC Streetcar barn area and turn it into a sustainable, community park and recreation area. They have been working since 1998 to make this dream come true. This year, work has finally begun. (http://www.anewpark.ca/parkupdate.php?id=21) It's amazing what can be accomplished when enough people get together to fight for what they believe in!

For two reasons this makes me smile.. I am a huge fan of community parks. I want to see more of them.
The other reason.. my brother lives there ;)
