more on sensitive skin and migraine

submitted by daniel on thu, 2008-07-31 18:04.

Here's another article on skin sensitivity as it relates to migraine. It's interesting that all of a sudden this is a hot topic, where Susan and I have known about this issue for decades. But it's put forth as a new "discovery". At least it's finally getting some attention.

Please take a look at the video below. It clearly illustrates the path we should take with Global Climate Change.

for every dog an angel

Susan found an amazing quote on the 'net yesterday but couldn't find its source. The quote is:

People can be transient, hypocritical, downright nasty and fleeting with their emotions and affections. The love of a dog for its person, however, is possibly the purest, simplest and most honest love on this earth. Dogs are the kind of creatures that can make even the most skeptical believe in the existence of a higher power. Their love is absolutely unconditional and utterly faithful. God bless these beautiful, unique and wonderful animals.

the elephant in the room

The Toronto Star ran an article last Sunday which explores a discussion Susan and I had on that same day! I just found it today through TreeHugger as I don't read the Star.

There are many environmental issues people are trying to solve in the world, such as global warming, species extinction and pollution, to name a few. The elephant in the room that nobody talks about is human overpopulation. That is the base problem behind all of the environmental issues we're facing.

solar-assisted hybrids

I just stumbled across an interesting web site that sells solar panels which install on the roof of a car. I've long thought that would be the perfect place for a solar panel setup. This company has come up with a system that will assist a standard or hybrid engine providing up to 29% improved fuel economy (at least, according to their site). This page details which vehicles can currently be fitted with the solar assist panels. Our Ford Escape Hybrid is on the list, though the image on that page is of the gas-guzzling six cylinder standard Escape.
