Susan found an amazing quote on the 'net yesterday but couldn't find its source. The quote is:

People can be transient, hypocritical, downright nasty and fleeting with their emotions and affections. The love of a dog for its person, however, is possibly the purest, simplest and most honest love on this earth. Dogs are the kind of creatures that can make even the most skeptical believe in the existence of a higher power. Their love is absolutely unconditional and utterly faithful. God bless these beautiful, unique and wonderful animals.
I did a search and found this quote in someone's review of a book called For Every Dog an Angel. I don't know if this is the real source of the quote or if it has been "lifted" for use in this review. But it sure does accurately reflect Susan's and my feelings about dogs.

The best thing about my two dogs is that they are so forgiving. I don't know anyone that compares to dogs when it comes to forgiveness. Religious leaders talk about it, but rarely seem to be examples of it.
Bonnie had a bad life before coming into our home. But she greets people with love and enthusiasm and a sweet invitation to play. She is very forgiving. She is a great role model.
