same sex marriage in canada

The online vote AGAINST same-sex marriage is 80%, 18,574 votes. This is plain weird. Likely right-wing lobby groups and so on have apprised members about the Globe poll. Since it is a poll that is often quoted and touted as a barometer of Canadian public opinion, people pay attention to it.

Having had a friend who was a member some years ago, I know what some of their tactics are. Let's keep the fight for human rights going. It looks like we may have to do some work.

I just did my bit. I notice that it's now 77% "No", 23% "Yes". Hey, don't look at me that way! I only voted once!

Now it's 63%. (On a quick read, I thought this was a real survey and couldn't believe the number.)

It ended up with 34980 answering Yes (in favour) 34716 No.

Well it looks like the suspected result manipulation was unsuccessful! I'm not sure of the results of any recent "real" surveys, but I think this is a little closer to reality than 80/20.
