Alex, the most famous African Grey Parrot ever, has passed away at age 31. Proving that our little sentient fellow critters deserve a closer look, he actually invented the word "corknut". His made up word for an almond still in the shell. Just as my Ollie invented "echh" the sound that papertowel makes when it tears at the perf line (you could show him a roll of papertowel and he would make that sound - in anticipation of the sheet being torn off. Paper towel continues to be known as "echh" in my household)
