Your list pretty well confirms my suspicion that the sudden decline of Zigster was related to some dog food we started to feed her about the time of her sudden decline. The brand: President's Choice. I also wonder how many people ate it - I read once that a lot of poor people eat pet food.

Oh my gosh... I hope that is not the case. Poor kitty. I know I was buying the odd package of Pres Choice packets, to entice Bonnie to eat. She has some food problems stemming from her bad background. I would buy the pouchs of gravy saturated food to make it impossible for her to run away from dinner.
I am just lucky that I did not buy a toxic one.
I am hoping that Zigster did not encounter that.

On the other hand, there are lists of safe foods to feed your pets. One example of a safe product is the Wellness line, including Old Mother Hubbard treats. Our dogs love both of those brands. Another safe bet is Cesar, though we use this mainly as a treat for our large dogs.
