Yesterday I went to a class on "Pests 101" at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center which tries to give a non-toxic approach to keeping your garden looking the way humans think it should. So this picture and the class remindrf me of the mixed feelings I had one day when I saw a Blue Jay grabbing an anole as it wriggled and futilely tried to get away. Or the time a wasp and a spider faced off and the spider got stung and paralyzed. Or more recently, when a small butterfly got caught in a spider's web. The beneficial animals don't care which animals we consider good or bad - it's all lunch to them. ...It's a jungle out there.
