This album contains photographs of landscapes and plants of the Chebucto Peninsula on the south shore of Nova Scotia, focusing on the bogs and barrens. (Halifax/Bedford is at the neck on NE side of the peninsula, Peggy's Cove is located diagonally across the peninsula from Halifax on the SW corner, facing the Atlantic Ocean to the south and St. Margaret's Bay to the west.) A significant part of the Peninsula is protected wilderness - see Terence Bay Wilderness Area - but the rest is rapidly giving way to strip mauls, subdivisions and other sorts of development. I will try to convey a sense of both aspects in the images. |
