Pastel Barrens

Every fall they inspire me.

That's beautiful! I don't know about the Halifax area, but our fall colours are on the rather muted side this year. No blaze of red, orange and yellow; more of a rusting of the leaves. Beautiful in its own right, but not at all the same as other years. I read that this is due to the very dry summer we had here in Southern Ontario.

Actually, it's very much the same here for the trees, they have hardly turned at all and I suspect they will just go from green to yellow or drop without the reds and oranges in between. So I was delighted to see the barrens vegetation going through the more usual fall sequence.
