Agraulis vanillae as carmen miranda?

...or a Gulf Fritillary, fritting away the day, siipping on a flame acanthus in the backyard on a sunny afternoon. Combination of enough light for a fast shutter speed, branches swaying in the breeze, and Bob's benign tremor all synched up to get a fairly non-blurry photo.

Especially in the gloomy days of Northern Novembers. Thanks Robert.

Glad you liked it! We have a cold front coming through again so I don't know how many butterflies we'll have over the winter - I really haven't paid much attention before this year... You will have to post some shots of that lake and the aurora if you can get some...darkness reveals some things the light hides, especially in the skies.
