my dog is a butterflysubmitted by robertkamper on sun, 2008-04-06 23:46.
It's a Southern Dogface, to be more exact. I finally shot one of these (two, really, the other is even more out of focus on another flower a little further back. Well, at least now I know what one type of yellow butterfly has been flying around in the neighborhood is. I think there are some that are both bigger and smaller - maybe I'll be lucky enough to get a picture of one of them, too. One day. Oh yeah, I saw the first hummingbird up close recently in the front yard sipping on the red autumn sage flowers. Almost as cheery as a cardinal or the first monarch or identifying a new butterfly visitor to the habitat. If only the days were filled with birds, blossoms, and butterflies (and Bach, Beethoven, and Beatles), what a wonderful world it would be. A little Louis Armstrong wouldn't hurt, either. tags: butterflies beatles wildlife monarch photography beethoven hummingbird cardinal sulphur southern dogface bach louis armstrong |
