I don't know if anyone has heard of this amazing community effort, but I stumbled onto the website a few weeks ago... tags: ecology sustainable park community eco-friendly bottled watersubmitted by daniel on tue, 2006-05-30 19:54.
Belu, a British company, has a product that will make so-called tree huggers very happy. One of the problems with consuming bottled water is the overwhelming production of empty water bottles. Well, Belu has solved this problem by putting their water in biodegradable bottles. These bottles are made from... corn! The Belu bottles — instead of sticking around for millions of years — "can be commercially composted back to soil in just twelve weeks". And to top it all off, Belu contributes 100% of its net profits to clean water projects. Amazing. Now, if only we could get them to distribute this product in North America. Being a so-called tree hugger, that would me very happy. tags: biodegradable environment ecology |
