I've added a new section to my gallery called "Jefferson Forest". In it I hope to document how precious this little bit of forest really is, and what is actually lost when mindless housing development erases natural habitats such as this.

I've added images of the forest itself, images of what lives on the forest floor, and lastly, images of what lies immediately outside the forest.

Here's a snippet from a recent article in the Toronto Star entitled "Wetlands need more protection, OMB told", with a sub-heading of "Tiny frog among species at risk in 7,800-unit site. Greenbelt plan not enough to protect it, biologist says.":

The province dropped the ball when it failed to protect sensitive wetlands threatened by a massive housing development, a provincial biologist has told the OMB.
