surveymigraine sufferers misunderstood: surveysubmitted by susanjillian on tue, 2007-01-02 19:14.
As I read this article:"Migraine sufferers misunderstood: survey", I found myself thinking that the medical community is still largely responsible for this feeling of being misunderstood. Not the employers. Don't get me wrong, I am glad this article exists, but they are only doing a survey now? 20 years ago there was a pattern emerging with suicide and migraine. MS and migraine was a topic 15 years ago that needed further exploration - and is still largely untapped. People suffer in silence not because they can, but because they have to. And only for so long. This is a disability in some people - not everyone, not the people who have an attack once every couple of years. But the unfortunate few that have them several times a month. Exhausted from working through pain, poor from the expense of medication, it's no surprise they feel the way they do. This survey is not as extensive as it could be either. But I'll take what I can get. |
