from a series of "PhotoShopped" subway ads at Gizmodo, are these either subtle feminist statements on phony idealistic standards of beauty, or "adbusting" efforts? Or just geeks trying to educate the public with guerrilla computer literacy?

Researchers at Brunel University say that symmetry in body shape, not just facial symmetry, determines attractiveness.

Using similar 3-D models with the heads removed, researchers found that symmetrical bodies are more appealing to the opposite sex and that traditionally masculine and feminine traits are tied to symmetry.

You may recall susanjillian's previous post on how a beautiful cover girl face is built using cosmetics and Photoshop - well, here's another post along those lines.
